Our 2011 Goals and Why They Are Good for You!

WHY SHOULD I CARE?

You might ask why I am bothering to tell you, the avid and good looking sport physiotherapist, what plans we have the website in 2011. Well, I have decided to let you know for two main reasons. The first is because it will affect you guys. 2010 was OK, but 2011 will be awesome! I will expand below. The second reason is that by putting it out there, it serves as a good motivational tool. Plus, you guys can keep me in line. Below I will discuss the big goals for the site in 2011.

CUTTING EDGE CONTENT

Now I know what you’re thinking… you already provide high quality and cutting edge content…. possibly some of the best on the net. I know, I know. However, in 2011 we want to take it up another notch. This includes increased diversity of topics, whilst remaining completely relevant to our core themes. We are hoping to have increased contact with experts and thought leaders across the realm of sports medicine and sports physiotherapy. This will likely also include other relevant health care professionals on a range of topics. Additionally, we are currently working on potentially delivering content via a podcast. This will allow you the reader to devour the content on the go, possibly in the car or pumping it in the gym.

BIGGER NUMBERS

We are hoping that our numbers will continue to rise throughout 2011. This includes increased numbers of readers, email subscribers, YouTube subscribers, Twitter followers and Facebook fans! Greater numbers of eyeballs will mean the potential for increased, or any, revenue from the site. This will ultimately mean better and more sweet FREE sports physiotherapy content for you guys. I would be eternally grateful if you would share this resource with any and all of your colleagues – send them a link, suggest the page on Facebook…anything (thanks!).

ONGOING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The importance of ongoing professional development is unmistakable. All of us should strive to continue learning throughout our career. The fact that you are on this site is testament to the fact that you have a commitment to enhancing your clinical expertise. My personal goal is to continue my own professional development in 2011, which will then allow me to pass on this knowledge to you through the medium of the site. Remember, this definitely is not a one way street. If you have got a good tip or trick be sure to let me know!

THE MOST IMPORTANT GOAL

The absolute number one and undoubtedly most important goal is to deliver what you, the sports physiotherapists reading this, want. We want to deliver interesting, relevant and above all helpful information.  However, I unfortunately cannot read your mind!

So please take one minute and let me know what you want more, less, new, or even different on the site in 2011. Hit me up in the comments, on Twitter, on Facebook, or even privately through email ([email protected]). Thank you in advance, and enjoy your New Year celebrations!
